SWOS

I just read the Wikipideia page for upcoming live arcade titles and found out the following were coming:

Ikaruga
N+
Quake 3 Arena!
Sonic 2
Discs of Tron
Metal Slug 3
Tron
Tempest
The Incredible Machine (spent sooo much time playing the original)

How did I not know about any of these?

should be a great year for live arcade
Some decent games there.

Unfortunately they suffer the same problem that every arcade game has so far for me, they don't offer anything more than 5 minutes play so just aren't worth buying.

SWOS will be the first game to change that for me. The only other titles I can think of that I would buy are Final Fight and Windjammers, if they don't end up on XBLA at some point then someone needs shooting.

I'm still not sure about Quake 3 over Live, it all depends how many people play it really. Ikaruga should be good, I love a good shoot 'em up. Apart from that I'm not really interested in any of those games listed.

Quake3 worked really well on Dreamcast, it's an absolute legendary game too. There will be plenty of people buying it.

didn't the dreamcast have mouse and keyboard support? i thought you were talking about that. Also how are they going to shrink quake 3 down to the size of an arcade game?

ah wicked, i wonder if we'll see a lot more updated old pc titles then. The number one game i want to see on live arcade (or maybe even a full release) is trackmania united, now THAT would be awesome on live.

I would like to think so. Unfortunately, by not including a HDD with every console Microsoft have limited themselves somewhat by file limit size, especially compared to Sony who allow a 1gb limit.

MS really need to remove these size restrictions from developers, if people don't have a hard drive and a game needs the extra space, tough! Go buy a hard drive :p

Doesn't look like we'll be getting this any time soon.

Just had a quick look round to see if there was any indication of whether or not this would arrive today, it now seems the most specific release date they can give is 'by the end of the year'. :(

Aye its not like Microsoft have been worried about all its customers feelings in the past, why start now! :p
