SWTOR - anyone still playing?

What put me off was the world being so dead. There's no real wildlife, no day/night cycle, it's all static and linear. This is an MMO, you gotta take advantage of creating a great world.

The class stories are (mostly) fantastic though. And yes the F2P is restrictive but not too much that you can't go through these.

Anyone here still playing this? I started it up again to get my MMO fix (I won't touch WoW) and have really been enjoying it. The preferred status is pretty weak and EA have put some disgraceful limitations on non-subscribing players but I'd imagine it'd be perfectly fine to play as such if you just wanted to experience the various stories in a single player capacity.

The main 8 class stories are fine for a person who wants to be F2P, but after that the game really does begin to gimp F2P and preferred players, so it's better to just subscribe at that point.

I still play it on and off, but i don't play games much these days anyway like i used to, mainly a few hours on the weekend.

Also, they did a big server merge in November, so you can find plenty of groups for flashpoints, uprisings, heroics and raids. They also introduced level sync, but it ruins final boss battles in the vanilla class stories, it made them too easy as they're synced too.

Agree with all that. I do like the change to companions though. I know they lose a bit of flavour by not having a specialised role, but any change that means you can have Blizz out permanently, regardless of the role needed is a good one IMO :D

I splayed SWTOR for like 4h before getting bored out of my mind.

Have played through KOTOR I + II about 3 times since then.

Such a shame they had to turn such beloved games into a mindless, shallow MMORPG.

The best thing about SWTOR, and the only reason I subbed to it for so long was the PvP.

Of course I ran a pimped out Scoundrel when it was super OP and I'm not ashamed to say it was immense fun :p

To be fair the different stories/campaigns for most classes made it worth while levelling a few of them.

I used to play it, got bored about a year ago and decided to stop playing MMO's or any open-ended game completely (SP or MP), just a complete waste of time. Not to mention the SWTOR world was quiet a year ago, can't see it being overly popular now

I've barely gamed over the last year but love playing story games, love reaching the end. much more immersive for me. I love the Star Wars games but tbh, after SWG the new mmo just seemed rather flat.

i flick through it now and again... but it's pretty bland as far as a Star Wars game goes, and a very pale shadow of the original Knights of the Old Republic game

it's probably busier now with all the hype over the new movies flooding it... but i'll bet good money that it's all just full of new dropbox loot and purchases of new movie style sabers and bits

I actually fired it up for the first time in probably 3 years a couple of weeks ago, it hasn't aged well imo.

The potential was massive but it ended up being a bit of a turd.

Tried it again a few weeks back, was reminded of how terrible it was and how little they listened or improved upon things since the original beta. If only they put as much effort into the game as they did the voice acting.

Tried this last week and honestly cannot believe how utterly boring it was. The actual gameplay is virtually non existent.
Can't believe people are willing to pay a monthly sub for this empty, lifeless and totally dead turd.
