Reading something from one of the Australian news sites it's being quoted that the guy was known to the police but had no terrorist links, which sounds very much like a mental health/known violent offender given the wording.

That is horrific but thankfully Australia has the gun restrictions it does now, as looking at some of the footage it appears the guy was held at bay on an escalator for a while by someone with a bollard or something which undoubtedly reduced the death and injury count.

Yep. Absolute hero. So easy to just runaway in those circumstances

I'm not sure why you've posted that.

I was posting additional information.

Yup even if he only delayed the guy by 30 seconds that's a lot of time for other people to get away from someone with a knife, or get inside a shop and lock the door.

I get the feeling some of these attacks are inspired by terrorist attacks on the public, to just attack people like your a brain dead zombie

Sadly I think incidents like this, assuming it's not terrorist related, are the extreme end of othering people.

Whatever the opinions and motives of this guy he didn't feel anything for killing the woman and injuring others, who had nothing to do with whatever his gripe is.

I'll never understand how someone can take their frustrations out on innocent people.
