Sync 3 Voice Commands

We're looking at a couple of Ford vehicles and one comes with Sync 3 with the addition of voice activated navigation, and the other without the voice activated navigation. Both come with an 8" screen and nav. If anyone has it is it useful of a bit of a gimmick, or do you just use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and use google maps?

Both are voice activated units as its also used to control the phone and radio if you want... The only difference is one will allow navigation.

You'll get more accurate mapping on Google Maps as they are updated quicker.

Got it in my mondeo. Google maps or waze is still miles better, especially when it comes to traffic and avoiding it.

My missus has ford sync with the voice controls. Its painful compared to my head unit where it just activates Siri.
