I am looking for a program (or script?) that will allow me to back up/sync a few directories over a network. It'll be backing up pics/docs from my mac to my server.

ATM I just copy across but it seems to rewrite the whole lot rather than just the few that have changed. It'll never be the other way around.

I know you can set time machine over a network but I'll do that soon with a spare HD but for now is there a prog that will reliably do this?
:)

I almost replied with "robocopy!" then realised which forum I am in. :p

I imagine rsync could do this, though my *nix knowledge is several years unused!

Just tried GoodSync - utterly useless piece of crap.

Would randomly hang and I would have to kill it via the Terminal. Absolutely no indication of what or why it went wrong.
