hi guys,
Do you know any software that would let me sync my powerbook with my iMac?

I need to sync:
itunes library + music folder
iphoto library + picture folder
documents
mail
bookmarks

i would like to stress that one mac is a powerPC and the other one is an intel. i tried running ibackup and the sync was pretty good. however it seems it messed up the imac as some applications do not start any more.

i can sort out bookmarks, mail and documents with simple sync software...
the problem is sorting out libraries.
for example, i cannot sync 2 music folders, otherwise i would have the same music in the 2 folders, but different libraries. am i wrong?

You could always set up Networked Attached Storage (NAS) and set your mac's to use that to store the data for your libraries, that way they'll always be in sync.

ok...but i carry my powerbook around. i just need something to move my data on the imac when i get back home for the weekend.
i cannot believe that apple hasn't thought about such a simple need!

just what I was thinkin. There is a GUI wrapper for OS X called RsyncX and other file-syncing apps such as Silverkeeper or Retrospect Express. I suppose you could even script subversion to replicate this sort of behaviour too
