syncing itouch over wifi.

Someone explain to me why you have to be at the computer for this to work :p

It would be good if you had to do a master sync with a USB cable, then whenever the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad is on the Wi-Fi network (and iTunes it's open), it'll sync changes.

Or Apple could improve the usability of the device by giving us WiFi sync like other phones do.
Well wouldn't usb be quicker anyway?

And to be fair for the time it takes and the hassle of plugging in a usb to your pc (myn stays in their) and the cable to the iphone is seconds and no hassle. So don't see why they would bother..

Syncing over WiFi would take no seconds as it would do it (albeit slower than USB) without you even knowing.

THATs what I want, having to physically plug something in isn't moving forwards is it?

WiFi Sync = Out of sight out of mind don't need to worry about it. (No time of mine used)
USB: Quicker but have to find the wire, plug it in, click sync, wait for it to finish and what not. (My time used)

Overall I'd like WiFi Sync.

Apple have applied for a proximity / location aware patent where you enter a certain place and apps appear on the device's homescreen.

Think how awesome it would be to come home and the phone knows you're home and starts backing up/syncing.

I don't care for the "app-on-homepage" thing, but the location aware side would be epic.
