Hi all,

I want to upgrade from my ReadyNAS Duo and move all my data from my Unraid server which I have fallen out of love with. I have ordered a Synology DS1513+ for £449 which seemed to be a good price.

Before I open the box is this my best option at this price point? I have read good reviews and the disk compatibility seems to be very good so that I can use the disks from my unraid server and readynas.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The DS1513+ is a good NAS and will no doubt do exactly what you want it to.

Personally if it were me I would have gone for the DS1515+ which is newly released and 2 years newer.

Hi, I did look at the DS1515+ but it was £200 more expensive and was outside my budget. The DS1513+ still seems very capable although it appears to have a slower processor and lacks the encryption chip which hopefully I will not miss too much
