Have just bought a Synology and getting to grips with the software.

I've setup the QuickConnect to access the NAS remotely. However how do i access programs on the server which usually open a new browser?

For example i have Bliss installed. When i go to open it at home i enter the IP of the NAS with the port no of Bliss (192.168.1.201:3220)

How do i access that when using the Quick Connect. Any ideas?

Ah I see what you mean. I think you can only do this on your local network (or remotely via VPN). Plex Server however allows you to sign into Plex on any browser and configure from there. Maybe Bliss has the same functionality?

Work out how to get one of the VPN services working, there's been quite a few flaws that come up with the QuickConnect software and I wouldn't want to rely on it to secure my NAS from the outside world.

You should be able to run an openVPN server on the synology, just by opening a few ports.

Synology let you create a “myservername.synology.me” address for you to use with DDNS tracking.

This is a much better way than using quick connect
