Synology Media Station issues

Hi all,

I use a Synology DS215j to send media around my network. I usually do this via Plex Server running on my PC (For some reason there is a Plex app for the 214j but not the 215j) but for those times when this isn't possible it would be nice to use the Synology's built in basic media sharing functionality via Media Station.

The problem is though that using Media Station requires you to select a folder for indexing, which is fine but it only allows you to chose from 'videos' 'audio' or 'photos' even though I have older folders on the NAS which contain all my video content.

Any ideas?

Never tried it on my Synology, but what about creating a symlink of your other video folders into the "video" folder?

Obviously you'll have to ssh to the synology (log in as root with whatever you set the admin password as).

Just use normal file sharing. I don't use any of the media features of my synology.

Just NFS sharing for Kodi. And the mariadb for a central db
