Synology query - installing old SHR drive into new NAS using JBOD?

Hi all, looking for some guidance because I can't seem to find a clear answer.

I've just set-up a new Synology DS223 to replace my old DS214se. The old NAS had 2x 3TB drives in SHR providing redundancy, but this is no longer required for what I use it for (as well as everything of importance being on the cloud), so I want to move the drives to the new NAS and have them in JBOD so I can use the full 6TB (aware of risks etc).

So far I've moved one of the drives to the new NAS, formatted it and set up as JBOD, leaving one drive in the old NAS with all my data on it (in SHR). Can I put the SHR drive into the new NAS and pull the data from it onto the existing drive, then wipe it and add it to the storage pool to get the full 6TB? Or will the new one complain about the new drive?

The alternative data migration methods offered by Synology weren't suitable unfortunately as it wanted to to copy everything including packages and system settings across, whereas I want to start fresh with the new one.

Thanks!

I think what you want to do should work but I'm not an expert on SHR.
If the old NAS is still available can't you just copy the data from old to new across your LAN using a client PC?

That was the alternative but I was struggling to figure out how best to map the old one on the new one.

Fortunately I've tried it and it works, shows up as a degraded pool but all my files and folders are there and I'm currently copying everything across. :)
