I recently replaced my dads old XP file server with sugarsync , with a single drive synology NAS (plus backup usb drive already had) the plan was to then Sync the drive with his office 360 onedrive. the setup was easy and straight forward. but that's where it ends. The onedrive sync is total garbage and doesn't work, its created a load of emptied folders synced a few files then gives up, the control panel just says failed or some other crap. really disappointed as I thought this would be an easy solution, google searches report other users with same issue, with no support from synology. I seem to stuck with to 2 options , use another cloud service, which I don't want to do since I paying for 360, or setup a pc with ondrive to acti as a server

I don't have access at the moment, as I am at my place of work, but it just doesn't sync, it stops for no reason, I upgraded all the software/firmware when I set it up.. its just annoying that a 486 dell with xp and sugarsync worked flawlessly , and this doesn't, if I get the chance I will take some screen shots of the control panel.

I don't know if there any other apps, I thought I could only use the cloud sync with the onedrive plug in.. sorry if my terminology is wrong as I'm typing this from memory

Preserver with it mate because once setup it does run well.I would start from scratch later and see if that helps.

no haven't had a chance to try it again yet.. rainy day job.. I'm not expecting to have much luck though, as I don't see how repeating a process for the 3rd time will give better results

Create a new shared folder called OneDrive, install Cloud Sync, tell it to sync to that folder.

It just works..

You can set up remote connectivity on Synology, so you can manage it from anywhere.

I assume the NAS is connected via ethernet and not WiFi/power line.
