Is there any chance they will revive the franchise for the ps3? it was an absolutely brilliant ps1 classic.......and i have often wondered why the series isnt being continued.....any idea's/updates people?

Possibly because even though it was a good game in the day - nowadays with all the 3rd person games of that type, it doesn't really stand out that well as much as it did back in the day.

Having said that though, we will probably see another game - theres one out for the PSP and should expect another on the ps3/360 :)

No idea, but the series is still alive and kicking on the PSP and there was the PS2 game Omega strain too.

More of a PSP oriented series now isn't it? I think there's been a few that's came out on it. I remember playing the demo for the first Syphon Filter way back in the day, because for its time it had a really progressive and modern lock-on system, combined with manual aiming for effective headshots. It was a slick series back in its day. I actually remember arguing with my mates which was better, Syphon Filter or Metal Gear Solid. They both just came out and neither started being really big yet, so there were genuine debate over which was the better action game.

Good stuff good stuff.

I hope so! Out of all the games i played on PS1, the Syphon Filter Series really stood out.

I remember looking around the Catacombs in Syphon Filter 1! Great Game.

Omega Strain was ok, i think i could only find 2 or 3 people online at any one time though :(
