Hi, i recently viewed a topic with a few people on the asus forums saying there system was becoming unstable, i replied saying i was having simular problems but as of yet there has been no reply's or anyone giving any opinions, i will paste the message i left there onto here and see if anyone here can come up with anything.

Any help from here would be appreciated as well

My message from the asus forum:

Code:
Hi, i also have recently been getting these sort of problems, my system is (as my sig)

My system was always fine and had no problem but recently also like you when my system has been on for a while my system seems to be just on its last legs.
i get menu's missing from programs, internet explorer just wont show the part where it says file, edit and so on..

Also it gets to a point where i can not open any more iexplorer windows or everything just freezes for a few secs then everything starts going ok again.

also when my system goes like this i also cannot right click on icons or access certain folder like my documents or my computer until i close a program.

But at the time i will only have like msn, yahoo and a couple of internet explorer windows so its not like a pc of my spec should be finding it difficult working.

I am using the beta bios 1302 and also the beta 3 version of internet explorer 7 but am not sure if that is the cause.

I just often feel like my pc is struggling so hard to do things and am not rerally asking it to do much just let me surf the net and chat on msn lol

But as i say after a restart it usually feels ok for a bit.

I have run every program i can think of to see if its a virus or a trojan and nothing is coming up.
I have kaspersky internet security av and firewall which detects nothing,

adawre shows nothing and i have run an online virus checker and trojan scanner from trend housecall and windowsecurity trojan scanner which both show nothing either.
So it seems to be a problem with the system in someway but i see some of you are also having this problem recently its just i cant seem to find what it is if its not a virus.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks

James

Sounds like a virus, had similar one caused xp to be unstable and xp screwy and scanners missed it.
I guess next question is when exactly did the trouble start?

Hi, its been ongoing for a few weeks now and i cant really pinpoint anything tht i have recently changed other than the beta bios although i do remember my system bein ok after i updated it.

I have run lots of virus scans though even the online scanners i would have thought one would have shown something if it was a virus.

Oh i also updated to the newer nvidia 6.86 driver package to. but unsure if its been since that either, usualy you would expect the problem to be there right away which i would have noticed and gone back to the previous drivers.

To rule out a virus, run this in Safe Mode ;)

EDIT:
AVG said:
Note: Some viruses can stop the action during the removal process. In this case rename the vcleaner.exe to some different exe file (e.g. something.exe). Restart your computer in Safe mode (recommended) and run the remover on the infected computer.
More here
