It's been a while since I've put a hw spec together, I currently have a coolmaster case with 2 x 750gb hdds, 850w PSU, dvd-rw...

I'm thinking of replacing my broken 8800 ultra, q6600 and MS-7325, 4gb ddr2 ram for.. (see attached image)

Is this all I need to get crossfire working and to overclock the processor to 3.8/4ghz? And is the memory/ssd/cooler/mb a good choice?

What if bought two lots of the RAM to get it up to 12gb.. here I was looking at 12gb packs thinking the timing was slower. When I could just double up the bundle I've got!

edit. Is my 850 PSU going to have the connections for two v/cards I wonder.... I guess adapters are usually supplied

psu will need 4 pci-e power connectors, dont think the 5870 needs more than 2 per card.

wouldn't go with the ssd yet, i'd wait til win7 has been released and see what ssd changes are made afterwards.

any reason your getting 2 5870s ?, aside from the fact you want crossfire ?

Are you thinking without a bunch of monitors it's a little over the top? I'm only using a 24inch benq and 21inc viewsonic.

I was thinking of additional performance for games and 3d rendering suites.
