£2000 is a stupid limit for a PC. You'll just be adding things for the sake of it, like 2x 1000W PSU's, or a £500 zalman case ;) Listen to what people are recommending, otherwise whats the point asking for help?

no point in speding the full 2k on a pc. the price/performance beggins to get silly... what is specced above has very good performance and will kick out some very good fps.

id do sumit simular to what acidhell2 has recommended and save the rest of the money.

but, if you really wanted to waste your money, 2 x GTX 280's would be within that price?

will watercooling be required (for system acidhell2 suggested), as i plan to overclock the cpu to at least 3.3ghz or will the cpu cooler be sufficient.

Urm a new cpu cooler would be recomended like the Tuniq Tower, as the stock intel one isnt too impressive (but hot hehe)

I do think you will struggle to spend 2 grand on a pc that wont be out dated in 6 months and be worth £500.... just a thought though

I would wait few weeks for E8600 and 4870 ;).

So like
Thermaltake ToughPower 1000
some good X48 mobo, either ASUS or DFI.
E8600
4870x2
Tuniq Tower
2x500gb in raid0 for system/aps
1TB for storage / backup.
8gb of nice DDR2.

Maybe watercooling kit if there's some money left.
I mean, common ! 4.2+c2d, 4870x2 xfire, 8gb ram.... <me_wants>.

Make sure u have at least 24" monitor to pair with it and nice 5.1 speakers.

Should kick the nuts out of anything you throw at it ;) and will be close to the budget.

If you really want to spend 2k then Something like the following. Please note I couldn't find any 4870 gpu water blocks so I put some 3870 in just get a price, you also need some tubing and barbs etc.

That is so not worth it, the only difference is that there is watercooling, u wont really get much extra performance out fof the extra 500 quid ** putting into it. you dont need watercooling imo. unless your really serious about overclocking. but 3.3GHz is easy with the TT anyway, so long as your case has good airflow etc.

save the money.;)
