Hi,
Could you guys just check out this system before I order?

Might be worth bearing in mind I'm not really going to overclock. Might dabble a little, but would prefer lower sound to overclocking.

Already have a case, keyboard/mouse, soundcard, monitor etc.
Already have a heatsink. It's a ThermalTake Sonic Tower: LINK

Went for a Samsung HDD as the Samsungs I had in the past have always been quiet.

Picked the motherboard based on the fact that I could add an extra 8800 graphics card at some point in future if I wanted. I run at 1280x1024.

I'm on an XP2400 at the moment, so should hopefully be a nice big difference.

Comments/thoughts welcome :)

Cheers

Nah, I've got a Thermaltake Sonic Tower heatsink, and a Zalman fan to use. I thought it'd be a bit quieter. Does that CPU come with a hs + fan then?

Interesting......
So, the mobo will perform as good as my original choice?
And will the 520W be enough?
How are those Western Digitals for noise? I've found the Samsungs to be real good.
I know it's only £50 extra, but I was already pushing it at previous price :D

well the aaks are really good and are as good if not better than 7210.10's and are quiet too...

my mobo is brilliant i have the same one no faults at all and overclocks like a good en

520 will be fine for this rig although if you wanted to sli the gtx you would need more

you could always get a smaller hdd to lower the price abit

and that ram is at an incredibly low price

Paul,
Been thinking about it....
Would you say that the 8800 gts 320mb will be plenty for my screen res (1280x1024)?
Or would the GTX 768mb really be that much better?
I was thinking it might be better spending the extra on the Asus P5N32-E. It has more USB, x16 speed when using the SLI, and what's supposedly a better chipset.
Hmmm....I'm undecided now......
latest idea is this:

I can defo recommend the Samsung DVD writer, its a superb drive, and mines from the MM, love it compared to cheap and tacky NEC drives that everyone kept raving on about a while back.....which i really wish i never purchased.

Can also recommend Western Digital drives, my favoured drives, but each to their own.

a gtx will run beteer than 2gts in sli... also the board will overclock perfect but on the other hand the gts will be fine for games atm... up to you

i would deffo go witht he crucial ram if its in stock if not get the slowe balistix and it will still be better than the geil.

The ballistix you recommended is back in stock now.....£9 cheaper too!

Anyway, thanks for all your recommendation guys. Just gotta decide wether to shell out for the GTX card or not......so tempting......
