I am trying something similar but using an external radiator in a custom watercooling loop.
The Rad is resting on the window and I have attached cardboard all around the edge of the rad to make a "Seal" against the window edge.
crack the window so its on its latch so to speak and then stuffed rages around the top section of the window so the only draft section is the bit behind the cardboard and rad seal.
Similar to you I wish to test it when people are not home so I don't get moaned at if it makes the house cold
Its a lot of money hassle for a better ambient temp thou
