The A8V Deluxe has no AGP/PCI-lock therefore overclocking (even slightly) could easily result to corrupting the hard disk, etc. I have this mobo & I've tried many times OCing it. Stopped when I seriously corrupted HD (even thought it was physically damaged) & had to formatcalnen said:{snip}It was overclocked (slightly) when I last used it{snip}
Another problem I encountered (had this board now for 3-years) is the BIOS easily gets corrupted not only from overclocking but even from flashing in Windows. Suggest you clear CMOS, if that doesn't work replace the BIOS chip. For mine I used this guys. Got a new chip from them + also sent the corrupt one to be re-flashed
