Right then I have an ASUS A78N deluxe mobo running a AMD 2800+ chip, about nine months ago I uprated the CPU and case cooling and overclocked the chip to run as a 3200+. It was fine for ages, then about a week ago every time I load up a graphically intense game GTA etc I get the annoying warning voice saying system failed cpu test, every 2 seconds. The game will run fine, but I have to have the sound turned right down.

I have tried turning it off either in the ASUS utility and in the bios but I can't seem to do it, whats going on, help please before I kick the machine out of the window

it means your overclock has failed.......lower your overclock a few mhz to see if that fixes it....

this can happen with over clocks over a period of time due to several diff reasons...

Only way to know would plonk another cpu in. You still got the old one?.....

What socket is that board?...... Socket A?..... i got a Duron sitting around i could send you to test with if need be. For a couple of quid to cover post of course... ;)
