System not picking up two HDD's

My new system isn't picking up my two drives:

Samsung SpinPoint T HD400LJ 400GB SATA-II 8MB
Western Digital Raptor 74GB WD740ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB

I have the 680i motherboard.

Whats next, manually enter the following?:
Cylinder, head, sector, capacity.

If so, where can I find that info, wasn't on WD site.

so do they not appear in the bios, or just not in windows

if they dont appear in windows do they appear in disk management

which SATA controller are they plugged ito ?

Need the info above really, plus:

Are the SATA ports enabled in the BIOS?

Are they set to single drive/IDE mode/Non RAID or whatever the equivalent on the particular board is?

Are the drives powered correctly - 1 power cable only Molex or SATA power NOT BOTH?

Are the drives spinning up when you boot the PC?

follow what the above two posters have said, also try changing the cables to other ones.
