System restarting

have you tried starting the comp up without the HD plugged in, a computer dont need a HD to post,

You need to take things out and plug in one at a time, start with only the CPU and memory plugged in, you should get a beep code telling you that the vga has failed.... the manual will have all the beep codes. Add components one at a time.

Now then.. It's booted.

However, my motherboard USB ports don't seem to be working. The front ones are (charging my iPhone from it.)

Any idea what could be causing this? They work to choose my OS but then after that, nada.

Edit: its gone back to turning itself off again, the hardware is fine otherwise it would never have booted right? So it must be a wiring problem I'm guessing..

I have it all set out on cardboard and the problem still persists
