System restore after 8.1 preview

Hi guys. Need s liitle bit of help here. I thought I'd try the 8.1 preview but it turns out that a few of my applications aren't compatible so am try to do a system restore back to Windows 8. Followed the instructions when installing 8.1 and created a system restore image to a usb flash drive. now when I boot into the flash drive I can get to the point where it asks to locate the image to do the restore. But it is not able to find any image. I have tried to install the sata drivers for the motherboard but still it can't see any image anywhere. Any help is appreciated.
 
Looks like your in the same boat as i was. No matter what i tried i ended up having to do a fresh install of 8 as when tried it just kept telling me i couldnt go back. And to top it off when i did install 8 it told me my reg key was no longer valid anymore and had to contact MS to get a new one, hence i had all my programs to re install. Now thats what i call (win 8 is a joke).
 
Thanks bud. Gave up in the end and had to reinstall Windows 8. Thankfully upgrade liscence worked fine on clean install but obviously lost the free media centre upgrade...whats the point of creating a system restore image if it doesnt bloody work?! Joke to me too!
 
I kept my free windows media centre key in an email from when i upgraded to 8 and when i done the fresh install from my CD and added more features from the metro search screen (ie WMC) the key still worked fine. Do you not still have your key somewhere?
