System restore question.

I want to restore my system due to unstable issues, but it only lets restore to 5 days ago i need to restore earlier than that is their a way? i am on vista 64bit.

Sure the instabilty isn't hardware generated? id expect the cleanest way to be a reinstall, but I'm hardly competent with windows. Was never sure system restore did much.

Unless there's a restore point from before 5 days ago then I dont see how you can do it using system restore..

System restore in Vista works very effectively, you have likely deleted the old system restores prior to 5 days ago, or the storage space affording to system restore is so small that it removed the older system restore versions.

System restore should allow you to browse any of the older restore points, but it'll automatically default to the most recent. Make sure you've tried browsing for older versions.
