Hello all,
My pc is not too old i built it in early 2011 , but it has seen some very heavy use, and i think it could do with a revamp.
the specs now:
motherboard: asus M4a88gtd (or something like that, not too fancy)
Processor: AMDphenom2 955 X4
memory: 16gb G.skill ripjaws
Graphics: GTX460 768mb
Hard drive: some ancient 1tb budget thing (not sure the make)
Power: 500W supply
Case: xigmatech midgard 2
I am noticing some pretty strange sounds from the hard disk, so i will defo need to replace that. It is mainly used for some casual gaming, some graphic design in solid works and some special effects stuff and film editing.
I am a student atm, so i am on a pretty tight budget! im thinking 350-400 (maybe more if i get my uni grant)
what do you reckon the best i could get for my money?
i think hard drive, processor and possibly motherboard all could do with upgrading to more up to date parts. graphics less important but i am considering it.
my first thoughts:
Intel Core i5-3470 3.20GHz
MSI Z77A-GD65 Intel Z77
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
Crucial V4 64GB (for OS)
ill keep the case, memory and power supply
all comes to 300.
any other suggestions? any adive would be greatly appreciated!
