I was elite on elite on the c64 but that's 30 years ago!!

Yes.

Want to make sure? Then fit a R9 290 and maybe use the 128GB SSD version.

Or go AMD and even get a 144Hz screen,

I play elite dangerous using the thrust master hotas, if it fits your hand it's comfortable, but if not it's awful due to the flared base of the hand grip which is very irritating unless your sitting at the right angle. Simply put you need to be sat at the right height relative to the controller, otherwise you cannot grip the stick properly and the base will rock.

The throttle is pretty unrefined as well, it's really sticky on my unit to the point I simply don't use it anymore. Thankfully you can use voice control to control throttle settings or key binds.

The whole unit is ok, it's responsive and works just fine, but it's cheap and it feels a bit cheap although it's quality is greater than its price would suggest.

If price is an issue, definitely go with the thrust master, itll do the job just fine. if price is not a concern, maybe go for one of the higher rated controllers on the ED website forums, there is a thread about controllers which details everything you need to know for buying and setting up a flight stick specifically for ED.

Either way the Thrustmaster is a top 10 stick for ED.
