Hi Guys
getting 2 warning messages on a computer im trying to fix. The first one is a system fan warning says something like system fan running slow please service to avoid damage.

The second is coming up saying Service Immediately to avoid loss or damage to your system.

Now i have taken the machine apart and completely cleaned the inside including the fans and power supply but this keeps coming up. I have watched the message appear and there is no difference in the fans speed or noise.

It a Packard bell computer running Vista Home Premium.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If the fan is running ok then the BIOS maybe giving you false info. Is the system keeping the time ok? Use speedfan or HW Monitor to check those fan speeds within Windows against the readings in the BIOS.. They should be the same.

Also check the fan speed thresholds in the BIOS for warnings. If it is set to be too low then it will force an alarm if fan speed is low.

Have you physically had a look at the fan when the system is on? Is it spinning slowly? Is it making any noises? Also, have you got it connected to some kind of fan controller?

PK!
