Hi guys i am thinking about using a t-line and am wondering how to set it up properly.

as i see it it has to be on the hose that is going into the pump, and should have a cap on the end.

but:
how long should it be?
how do i bleed the system with it?
what methods do you recommend to fill via it?

thanks

when i had a T-Line setup my line was around 30cm but its up to you keep some water in the T-Line so to at as a reservoir.

to bled just leave the pump running and occasionally shake or move the case to its sides to release the trapped bubbles.

to fill just use a funnel, i remember used a AA battery to plug the end of it ;)

I prefer T lines to Res'

less tubing, less fuss .

My T line runs from he bottom of the loop, feeding into the pump.
its pretty long so because it acts as a res, filling doesn't take too long.

no matter what loop you have draining the loop is always a pig.
its different in everycase ( pardon the pun ) but in my case ( pardon the pun again ) i just let the pipes from the rad go and drain it that way.

bleeding is the same as any other loop, just hot wire the PSU and connect and disconnect the pump whilst filling, until theres no more room for water, let it run to get the air out and top it up further more.

heres some inspiration - pic taken form my loop ( please excuse the green floppy lead and messy wires, its an early pic :D )

the top of the T line goes to a danger Den fillport, which are a god send :D, so easy to install and use.

btw, imagine how much more tubing that water would have to pass through if i used a res :O not worth thinking about the restriction tbh !, the loop is acctualy small, and efficient

ah i see thanks guys, so there is no set length then.

can i just put a bottle connected to a funnel into the t-line then start the pump? :D

i was just thinking about getting a barb and putting an end cap on it.

exactly

just fill it up, swish it about so that theres water going into the pump, or making contact, then start it up. the water will disappear QUICK so stop the pump instantly and re-fill.

just NEVER run the pump dry.

If you're using 1/2" ID tubing, an ordinary AA battery fits in the end perfectly and ironically acts as an anti-battery effect preventing all galvanic corrosion!

That last part is untrue.

bah all tubed up and no funnel :( and not enough distilled water!! off to halfords tomorrow!!

can i put the zerex in after putting distilled water in? i.e. fill it up with distilled water then just add about 10ml of zerex and let it mix itself up?
my last loop only used water, and got a bit furry after a while, but im lazy and dont like cleaning it!!

thanks

winnnarrr one will now get filling with nice distilled water, man this is gonna take a lot of tipping it around to get all the water into the blocks :(

ah well the things we do in the name of silence and coolness and bling!!

Unless you have different metals in the loop you dont need to add additives such as zerox. Also the thermochill rads make it much easier to bleed the system when using t-line as there is a bleed screw in top of rad. I use a syringe to force water into this which removes the trapped air that gets stuck in the top of the rad - saves loads of time with bleeding.

the reason i need additives is last time the tubes fogged up, and i dont want this to happen, i want them to be squeaky clean :D just figured this would help!!

so these bleeds screws, i have one, how do i use it?

do i just let all the air collect in the rad then open the screw while the pump is on and the tline open? or do i have to syringe it?
