My billing cycle is on the 18th of each month so I was surprised to get an SMS from T-Mobile on 30th Sept that I was at 80% of my 750Mb allowance. 2 days later another SMS that I'd gone past it and now I had to put in for a further free 250Mb bundle or buy a bundle.

The Data Ap on my Note only shows I've used 450Mb so I called T-Mobile to get a break down of the data use and they couldn't/wouldn't send me any data numbers saying it was on their system but they couldn't divulge it too me.

It took an hour to get it a tiny screen shot of a data table sent by email. Pretty poor service I think. Fair enough I may have exceeded my FUP in the past but why can't they show my current data usage abs why so unwilling to show my previous data use. Are all the networks like this? Also is the Android data counter useless.?

Android data counter will never be completely in sync with what the ISP sees. Unfortunatly a lot of ISPs seem to count unsolicited connection attempts in the data useage also which if someone using that IP was previously doing for instance a lot of torrenting and still getting connection attempts from other peers can actually add up to 100+MB over a month.

He's talking about data over the cellular network. He will have a NAT'd IP address.

just use the 'my T-Mobile' app. if you have a set limit then it's not FUP. Just switch to one of their unlimited data tariffs. I think the only restriction is that they cap the speed at 4mbit. Not sure is there is a FUP but I only use 1-3MB usually.
