Am really liking the looks of this contract just a couple of Q's

1) i know its an 18 month contract which is fine by me, but would i be able to swap phones DURING that contract becase obviously in 18 months tim ethe phone i get now will be VERY dated

2)the phones i have seen online all seem to be quite old phones anyway? apart form the motorola pebl and such, and i really dont like those...there is the SE one but ive got a 700i now and really have got fed up of the joystick :(

:) cheers

1. You can only upgrade the phone in the 17th month according to their site.
2. Not all of them are old. They have some new Nokias and the Motorolla SLVR

really dont like any of the motorolas that are out, th ebuttons just dont feel right to me and id be scared of breaking them :| lol

will look into it, but really not keen on the 18 month contract thing though :(

Thing is if you say go Voda you either go on an 18 month contract or go on a 12 month one and pay through the nose for the handset depending on the tariff and Flext I think its pretty popular at the moment :)

Make sure that the warranty for the phone extends to the 18months bcause I heard that it doesnt on T-Mobile. Also, 18 months isnt that bad fo ra phone to be 'in date'. Imagine the moto V3 and sony W800, they've been out since more than 6 months and people are still being recommended them or they like to buy them, knowing they have ANOTHER 12-18 months with them.

But yeah, check out the warranty deal.

V3 has now been out for well over 18 months.

You sure about that? I dont see how they can stipulate people have the contract for 18 months when the phone could quite easily break after 13. Then you would be 5 months where you cant use the service.

Quite easily. In most mobile contracts the phone makes up no part of the line rental agreement. The line rental agreement covers your access to the network and the sim card, the handset is generally supplied as part of a separate contract.

If your phone breaks or is lost, the network is under no obligation to replace it (bar statutory obligations if they were the handset supplier as well under the SOGA for faults).

I'd always recommend taking out some form of insurance including fault cover if you're going to take an 18 month contract for just that reason.

Its been out for way less than 18 months,

but yeah, as in , if you take out a connection only contract with vodafone, they done extend your warranty and right for a free repair, just as Dolph says, just make sure.

I was about to order the Flext 35 with the Nokia 8800. But then I realised they have changed the price of the 8800 from £150 to £200!!!!

Think I will hold off now and see if the other networks starting matching the Flext packages.

it has been around since at least september 2004, so more or less bang on 18 months, yet for some reaosn they are still selling like hotcakes, especially on pay as you go.

I'm on Flext35 and I got the Nokia N70 for free.

You could do what I am gonna do, if a new phone comes out you want, after 6 months (or anytime there-after) reduce your contract to the minimum contract you can and pay it off in one go. Quite easy.

Except you can't lower your tariff on T-Mobile until month 17

i was told 6 months as well for flext by a high street retailer....
Thats true. You can move UP a contract at any time (i.e. from 35 > 50 > 75) within 6 months, but you cannot move down until after that 6 month period. After 6 months you are eligable to move it to any contract you wish.
