I'm just wondering if anybody has experienced fraud by somebody opening a new contract in their name and then the process after that?
About 2 weeks ago I got a text saying that my offer of a Sony Xperia Z1 has been accepted and my new EE contract at £45 a month would start. I called T-mobile the next day and they were quick to cancel that contract, blacklist the phone and then start the fraud investigation. I have since signed a verbal disclaimer but since then nobody at T-mobile seems to know when I will get my number back on my phone.
I have heard that it will just automatically come back within 5-7 working days (7 is next Tuesday) and also heard from another advisor that I am getting a new SIM card through the post (although they couldn't confirm the address they are sending it to).
I'm just not sure how this happened in the first place and how long I am going to be stuck with a useless phone for.
