T-Shirts Design

Inspired by the thread asking about custom t-shirts and the fact I'm in need of some new ones, I decided to design my own. The main image is a drawing of mine (supposed to be Kristin Kreuk but never finished it) and the rest is just feather/space brushes.

Just wanted some opinions or ways to improve it, so please fire away!

Don't think it's been printed - Isn't it just a pic that's been photoshopped onto an image of a plain black t-shirt?

Aye it's not printed yet, just photoshopped onto a template. The original drawing was based on http://wallpaper-s.org/78__Kristin_Kreuk.htm but I never go onto the hair. Lana Lang nom nom.

Good luck printing that on a t-shirt.
Gradients & subtle tones + screen printing = problematic

It'll be cheaper and easier to print in B&W, plus I think I like it better:

Or maybe try a single colour as Craig said mixing colours/fades on a screenprint is a headache at the best of times.

I toyed with the idea of creating my own t shirts a year or two ago.

Nothing epic.... Just simple images. Will post pics later.

It was originally a pale cream, but I added the gradient to make it a little more vibrant. I'm right in thinking it needs to be .png format to allow for transparency on the background aren't I?

Instead of it being basically a big picture printed on a t-shirt (along with the black being printed) most of the black is transparent and only the actual image is printed. If that makes sense? I've not printed a t-shirt before so forgive my ignorance.

Well it depends how you do it; If you plan on doing it "properly" with a screen print then you have a screen with only the image on it but unless you plan on buying a screen printing setup then you'll be sending it off to a printer, in which case they will give you the specifics they require.

If you want to use the the HP/Epson type ironon transfer sheets then the last time I did that you had 2 options, one for dark t-shirts (I think this one was transparent) and one for light t-shirts which was white.
