T_FAULT and EXT_PWR lights on x1900xt help??

Hi guys

Just put and new motherboard, memory and chip in my pc and I can't get any sort of signal on my monitor plus the _fault and ext_pwr lights are on permenently??

I have taken memory out but it did help 1 stick or none, I have reseated the card 4 times but still no joy spec below can anyone offer any help please?

TR Extreme 120 cooler
Hyper 580w PSU

PC was working fine when I took out old board, mem, chip and cooler? Harddrives spin up, DVD drives open and close?


EDIT: If I take the card out and place it on a bit of card still with the power 6pin power lead in the lights go out? Does that sound like a motherbaord issue?

Are you trying to boot with the same OS installation that you were using with your old mobo? That could be your problem.

You should really do a fresh install of XP/Vista with a new cpu/mobo.

I have the old OS on the first drive correct but I'm not even seeing a BIOS screen and the 2 x LEDs (T_fault & EXT_PWR) are on constantly, even if I was on the old OS I should still get a signal from the card surely?

I'm just about to pop to a mates and test my X1900XT in his system, if that works then I think it may be a faulty board?

Any other advice would be welcome?
