TA game anyone?

Chances are you're really bad :P. Takes 2 min to kill the computer if you want to, they suck

"If you want to"

While it's relatively easy just to rush in, and comm-bomb, I prefer to drag out my games, staying away from nukes, and avoiding the commander until most of the base is destroyed.
Or I try and capture a construction unit, to steal me some opposition tech :)

Im either really bad at the game, or it takes ages to win a battle in skirmish mode. :p
Im messing around on a map with 2 large shore areas, and a very very large ocean inbetween. I had a full hour's worth of building before i got even slightly bothered by a radar plane. :p
I dont remember the LOS being as bad are they are at the moment. You practically have to be 1 pixel away from something for it to show up!

if your talking about skirmish vs comp its because the AI is bugged on it and all they do is send hundreds of land units to the shore and then they wodner why they cant get to you

play on a none coast map and ul get owned by hard AI if uv never experienced it

An average multiplayer TA game lasts 15-20 minutes.

We used to have epic 3 hour long battles over our lan back in the day:)

We'd all have so many defences that nothing could get through, even nukes...

... Roll on Supreme Commander!

Nope, they still suck. When I got TA I immediately played skirmish and I could beat the computer by the 3rd time I played.

I have done this morning.
Its not any harder.

I have good fun playing against 2 hard opponents on a large map that has islands seperating me from the other two, building up my island so i have plenty of energy/metal flowing in, and so that its near impossible to get anywhere near the coast of my island:
And then, building a shed load of construction aircraft, finding a central point on the map that i can fortify against anything, building 5 bigberthas (or intimidators), and then setting about making large sea & air fleets.
And then simulataniously have the long range cannons bombard the AI, have the ships attack from one direction & the aircraft from another.
Pure chaos. Pure fun. And a sence of achievement from coodinating an en-mass, multi point attack on an AI base.

:D :p

That reminds me.
Is there a way i can bind groups of units to number keys like other RTS games?
I get a 'beep' from the game if i use the combo of ctrl+number, but it doesnt bind the units?

You need to hit enter and type +altswitch if my memory serves me correct... then the old ctrl+number will work:)

are u actually tryin 2 re-select the units correctly?

its not a case of ctrl + number then pressing the number to select them, u have to press ctr + number to select then alt + number to recall it

That's what I remember from playing TA. It's much easier just to learn this method than changing the controls all the time.
