I couldn't see a thread on this here so hope it's not a re-post.

I can't find much media cover about it but a good friend of mine (full time TA) has been told he has lost his job along with the whole of the TA getting put on hold for 6 months. and the full time army aren't recruiting for 6 months. He has served his time at war and basically I feel this is a disgraceful way to treat thousands of people who give up there free time for the good of the country and many that have literally stood in the firing line to protect us.

They reckon it will save 20million. Is the back-up to our forces worth so little to them (monetary value and decency)? When the forces are crying out for more troop we cut the whole system set up to feed them new troops.

Do any of you guys have more information (something more solid so I can get all the facts)?

Discuss etc.

Has his actually happened or just a rumour/suggestion of a way to save money? As I would have thought this would have been plastered everywhere if this has happened.

Meh :/ Of all the things to be annoyed right now, this isn't one of them.

Are you you serious? The time and commitment these people put into our country and putting everyone else's lives above there own and you don't think its something to be annoyed about? This country clearly has no self respect or notional pride any more so they kick the last few fully committed people in the ***** just to make sure?

What National Pride this country sucks. I have far more things to worry about like heating the house and paying the rent and finding the cash for the kids for xmas to give a **** about some weekend army cadets. If it saves some cash cool they can give it to the proper army.

You are such a *****, your last statement shows how arragant you are.

GO tell that to the families that now don't have a dad to come home to pay the heating or buy the Christmas presents! And to think they gave their life for people like you.

The TA are trained soldiers, just like the regular Army.

You can't call them cadets. From a financial point of view sure it makes sense. But the TA play vital roles in any campaign

You are such a moron[/QUOTE

Why? Is it because I really do have better things to worry about than the TA? 20 million to save over six months is great for the proper army is is not?

The TA do exactly the same job as the army, they stand side by side on the front line getting shot at all day. However they do this part time, giving up their spare time to serve the country.

In the small picture yeh we all have other things to worry about, but think about the big picture
