Table expands in Internet Explorer

I'm having problems with the following code:

        <tr>
                <td colspan=2 class="inlinead">
                        {postrow.INLINE_AD}
                </td>
        </tr>

The table expands depening on the size of the image that {postrow.INLINE_AD} calls. If I use a 468x60 image, it expands accordingly and displays correctly in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera. But If I use a 728x70 image, the table messes up in Internet Explorer.
