Hi,

I was in a lecture today, and saw another student with a tablet taking notes.

i though this was a good idea, because it would be easier to organise the notes and find then. back up etc.

I got home and had a quick look, i think ive narrowed it down to 2 tablets there both the same model, just ones 8" and the other 10".

Im thinking the larger will be more practical, but the smaller one is cheaper, and more portable.

Im just looking for advise, views from owners what there like to note on, battery, or another suggestions.

Id prefer to get it fro john lewis as i get partner discount.

Many thanks

Kieran :D:confused:

I'm seriously considering a Chromebook. Light and cheap enough to chuck in my bag and not really care about, and Google Docs and a reasonable keyboard is more than sufficient for note taking. Then pull the notes down into Word and tidy up when I get home.

depends if you want to use a stylus, i.e. for writing by hand, drawing diagrams etc as most tablets have a very poor touch screen designed for clumsy fingers.
The Galaxy tab falls into this category.

If you want a proper handwriting tablet, you need one with built-in (Wacom) touch with a pen such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 or the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Over Here!
Picking up where nippynoo left off;

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" WiFi 32GB as seen here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=TB-002-SA has a keyboard and a pen/stylus.

Smaller form factor is the Mobilephone versions called the Galaxy Note variants, which I wouldn't be surprised if they all had keyboard options as well as the stylus.

Microsoft Surface Pro 'student edition' which includes a pen/stylus; http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/pdp/Surface-Pro---Student-Offer/productID.282543700

Otherwise you're left with every other device that falls under the 'tablet' genre as they just about all feature some kind of keyboard, even the iPad which from experience is pretty crap when using a stylus unless you don't mind writing then zooming out, then zooming back into roughly the same size in order to conclude where you left off.
