Taboo - BBC1

Hmm

So did he kill her, or did someone slice her up to make it look like he did when he was uttterly blasted?

Hmm

Hmm

I find myself Tom Hardy hmming a lot recently, hmmm, i like it.

The acting is excellent as is the production as a whole. Except, the story does seem feel like it's dragging a bit and they do seem to keep going over some aspects. Maybe they think it'll be too hard to follow so feel the need to repeat some bits. Enjoying it overall, just hoping the end won't be a let down.

I think it's slightly slower than other shows as they've gone into this thinking / hoping it'll be 3 seasons.

I wonder how many females gushed at the line Tom Hardy dropped to Oona Chaplin.

The take the dress off line/scene? As much as Tom is pretty hot I can't say I found that line/scene sexy at all, though I don't think it was meant to be?

Mind you there are loads of women who love the idea of Christian Grey and I don't get that either :o

Last night's episode just sempt to be setting things up for the final next week.

Interesting that Delaney never ate or drank things Brace prepared unless it was a sealed cask etc, Last night finally explained why.

I really enjoyed last night's episode. Very intriguing including politically, with the opportunities for James, The Company, and The State to all win or lose from the situation.

My wife didn't enjoy the cheese grater scene much though :D.

What I don't get is what use Delaney has with Stuart Strange.

Spoilers below...

Strange has Delaney over a barrel for high treason, but Delaney (+Chichester) has Godfrey as a witness to Strange's slave trading, and presumably the Crown's witnesses to Delaney's gunpowder shenanigans will conveniently disappear at some point.

Why does Delaney want to discuss things with Strange, when he can just wait for the whores to disappear (assuming Godfrey makes it that far), the Crown's case to dissolve, and Godfrey to testify against Strange / the East India Company for slaving? After that The Company is screwed, the case goes away, and he can just sail off to Nootka Sound and start trading tea and pelts.

Or does Delaney want to leverage his witness against Strange to ensure the case is dropped? Strange thinks his company is getting both a monopoly for Nootka and the land, so what leverage could Delaney have against Strange when there can be no less reliable witness to slaving than a treasonous witness.

What am I missing? Perhaps Delaney's sister (a woman scorned) throws a large spanner in the works somehow. Or perhaps that kid witnessed the murder of Winter and is being protected too?

Bit confused to be honest.

I think the only use he has of him is that Strange can get him a ship but how he makes that trade im not sure. He could trade Godfrey or he could side himself with the EIC for his freedom revealing what the crown knows about the investigation.
Like you've mentioned there are so many loose end it could be that there is much more detail that we haven't heard or seen yet.
Its a good show but its been a bit of a slow reveal.
