Tabula Rasa Beta

I'm in and testing, been in for about a month now, player name Morganne, give me a shout if you see me stumbling about puzzled as to what the hell I'm meant to be doing there. :)

Looks like the NDA has practically been lifted.

I have been very disapointed with this, followed it for 2 years, got invited to beta 3 months ago and was very excited. It lasted about 1 hour. Interface is horrible, they have made improvements but its still dire, graphics is so-so but doesnt run well on a medium system which it should for the graphics arnt that great. The game play just didnt grab me and just seems dull.

To say Tabula Rasa was going to redefine the whole mmo genre is well, frankly, embarrasing. Cant see myself buying it.

Disappointed. :(

Could be very much a Marmite game, but I hate Marmite as well. :p

Tell me about it. Spec in sig and I only pull off 50-60fps @ 1680x1050. Considering the graphics aren't that great, seems quite low to me.

I hate Marmite but I don't mind the game. Can't see it being something I would actually pay for though.
 
i believe you can only play at weekends and on certain days,

thought it was crap myself.

Played weekend just gone.

Just feel right, also looks abit weird, your toon seems to float rather than run on the ground. Various other annoyances as well.

Will try it again at some point and see if its improved.
 
Damn, I just got in the other day and was looking forward to a game tonight. The general consensus seems to be that this game is about as much fun as herpes. Oh well, add it to the ever increasing pile of MMORPGs that fail to deliver.
 
Well I got to say its better than most other MMO's however I think I'll still get bored as it's still not fps. Come on huxley where are you..
 
Well, I played it for an hour last night and was pretty disappointed. It needs plenty of work and I don't think even Richard Garriot can pull it together in less than two months. But then it doesn't feel like a Richard Garriot game, I wonder how much input he actually had? I loved UO and still rate it as the greatest MMORPG. Now if only someone would take that formula and give it a modern makeover. That would be one hell of a game. Unfortunately I can't see that happening as developers don't have the balls to offer that kind of freedom of choice in an MMORPG anymore. Shame.

Edit: just hijacking this thread to ask, what happened to the search option? Has it moved? I can't search for posts anymore.

The playsession times have mucked me about, as I spend Wednesdays and weekends with my gf :(

Had a brief play on the gf's machine on Wen, but she only has a A64 3000+, 6600LE and 512MB ram, so was playing on mid settings at 800x600, lol

Can't say that I think much of it as yet.
 
Is there some trick to registering on the Beta forums ?

It's just I've tried several times and it just keeps giving me "500 Server closed connection without sending any data back "

So my experience so far is nill for 2 - game minimises to taskbar on start and won't do anything else and can't register on beta forum to get advice on problem number 1 :p
 
Just a quick update. Played up to level 5 and am actually quite enjoying it. If they make a decent job of PvP and sort out the lag/performance issues it could turn into a great game. Although if released in its current form it will only put people off, its far from finished.
