Great to see Jade Jones make the -57Kg womens final again, defending her gold medal from London. Another guaranteed medal in the GB bag and getting ever closer to that tally of 65 from 2012.
Cagey second round fight, but good performance in the first and semi-final rounds.

Aaron Cook (who was controversially left out of the GB squad for London), opens his -80Kg account tomorrow, ranked #1 in the world as a Maldovan (his relationship with the GB committee went very sour)! Looks like the chap who took his GB place at London and got bronze, Lutalo Muhammed, is back representing GB again in this class.

Really loving how loads of our athletes are repeating their London success in Rio. I heard it was something like 13 out of 19 Gold medallists earlier. I shall definitely be watching Jade's final later. :)

Coach managed to get a plug in for the sports funding :)

Pretty sure everyone is being encouraged to keep up awareness.

Well why not. It does make a difference and it's clearly working. So a shout out to the lottery players who help fund the athletes is fair enough.

Just got up, didn't set an alarm to watch the final (hoping I might find it on bbc), but really pleased Jade won that gold back again! At London, she fought against the odds to win, but since then she has apparently dominated her weight class recently after a period where she "lost her love" for the sport. Her leg speed and power is incredible compared to her competitors I saw today.

Brings back the memories of doing Taekwondo during a-levels and uni back in the 90s, shame life stuff happened that prevented me from continuing, loved all aspects of it including the fighting tournaments which now usually make good Olympics viewing.

~2hrs8mins for Jade's final, what a ding-dong battle!

What a tense semi final, Lutalo takes it, another guaranteed GB medal!:)

At this rate, I can see the London tally of 65 being smashed.
