I just got a Tagan Easycon 530W. I plugged everything in and turn my computer on. I noticed that the fan is spinning very fast, probably at its maximum speed. Is this normal? My Enermax noisetaker was quieter than this.

Hmm, mines pretty quiet, are you sure its the psu thats loud? I used to have SLI'd 7600s and they used to sound like a jet under full load

Yes I am confident it's the psu. The 7600s do not have fans on them only heatsinks. When I stop the psu fan with a screwdriver, it's suddenly quiet. The psu's only 1 day old. Is it an RMA job?

Ah right yup just noticed you have GS cards and mine were GTs.

too be honest im not sure if you would be able to RMA for a loud fan but it does say silent in the description so you never know

Im happy with mine, quieter then my previous Tagan 480w-U01 even (And it rear fan was broken in halve and never span once even ;) )

Maybe your system has driven the psu to a high load so its running at high speed ?. does it operate the same in both Combined and Split mode ?

My system is not running at high load because I unplugged some of the cables and turned the computer on, but still it is running at high speed.
I thought that aswell, so I tried both the split and combined. Still the fan is running at high speed on both settings. Doing an RMA now.
