I have just noticed that my Tagan TG580-U15 makes a ticking noise when turned on, when I switch it off I cannot hear this noise. It isn't very loud, but I can hear it when my ears are level with the height of the case.

Does anyone know if this is a problem?

I have a small audio recording, but it is not very good quality at all and hard to make out the sound from it.

Thanks for any help :)

mine makes a sort of ticking electrical buzz with the pc turned off but mains power on, and a rattly ticking while on - the former has been that way for a year and nothing bad happened, the latter is the interior fan bearings giving up.

i wouldnt worry

Do you have the same model?

It may have been there for all the time I have had it, although I think I would have noticed it before. I think I noticed something last year but can't remember and it would have been quieter.

have a search theres a few people and the ticking problem is pretty common I have a 480w and it ticks when its off.

Had it about 2 years and just noticed guess this things not off a lot :D

I have a Tagan EasyCon 530W, and I've never heard it tick in the 2½ years I've had it. If i were you, I'd try to get a replacement.

Has anyone used their RMA service before, I need to use my PC and do not have a good spare PSU to power it.

I used it a couple of years ago to replace a ticker, courier brought a new one and took away the old one, all within a couple of days of reporting it - excellent service.

Sounds good, did you email tagan or nanopoint?

Also is there any selection of the day the courier replaces it, because no one is in most days here. So would need to choose a specific day.

Can't remember exactly, pretty sure it was [email protected].

You will be able to agree a swap over day though probably Mon - Fri, I was in a similar position and took mine to work with me.

Would anyone happen to know where the serial number is located on the TG580-U15?

OR it could be similar on other tagan models. I can't find it :(
