Like I said, if you're happy with that and think you've got a tailored suit then that is all that matters.
How patronising!
I am discussing definition not whether or not I am happy.
edit: can't be bothered

Dowie, do you have tailored suits? Where from?
That honsartor place looks good I might give them a call up and take a drive there. Failing that the King and Allen also seems quite good and easy to get to in London for me. Thanks for the links.
Buying and off the peg and getting them altered seems like an ok idea. But I'm not sure about that route, I'd rather get some measured and made to fit rather than getting some adjusted and having it get screwed up.
Sure 2 grand could buy you a very good suit but I'm not wanting to pay 2 grand for a suit. Having a bit of a look around I think that 650-750. Is reasonable bracket for what I'm after. I don't need a full "dress suit" I'm after a couple of nice fitting suits for work and social events.
Just wondering if you have first hand experience, or if you're one of the classic internet connoisseurs who's never actually experienced what they're expressing opinions on.
the defensive posting was because the other poster seemed to get a bit touchy at my skepticism of the 'tailors' he recommended
Why spend that much on a suit![]()

I'm looking to get a couple of tailored suits as I'm bored of having go through racks of stuff to hopefully get a full suit that fits well. As I am a bit of a short ass I always tend to struggle to find shorter length trousers that are not either HUGE waist sizes or not really short and end up looking baggy near the shoes.
Anyways theres a website that keeps poping up "a suit that fits" and they have a branch near where I live. I wondering if anyone has any experience with this shop/tailor. They seem to have a rather mixed bag of reviews some raving how good they are some saying how god awful they are.
I live in Milton Keynes but I'd be quite happy to head to London if needed if anyone has any recommendations for London.
Looking to spend up to 650 maybe 700 a suit.
*awaits the people saying WHY SPEND THAT MUCH ON A SUIT !*
Spend £400 on a good suit from a normal high street retailer, that fits as well as possible. Then find a local tailor and get it adjusted. Some shops will offer some adjustment free - you dont need a made to measure suit for it to fit properly
