Take lesson before doing MOD1+2 ?

So for my mid-life crisis at 42 did my CBT and Theory and after having great fun and nearly 2500miles later on my Honda MSX125 I am doing my Direct Access next month.

I think for me it will be a big jump going straight onto a 500cc bike from a MSX125, It's worth going for an hour lesson before hand just to get used to a bigger bike before I do Direct Access training and license?.

I had trouble with the CBT on the crappy Chinese 125 they had (was fine on my varadero 125), so did 3.5 days for the DAS, having ridden on the 125 for about 4k miles. Probably could have done mod 1 and 2 in 2.5 days.

I think you'd need much more than an hour to get to grips with the bigger bike, the mod 1 course and prepping for mod 2. Could try it - would be cheaper I suppose. I didn't want the hassle of having to book time off again in case it went **** up.

Good news passed Mod 2 this morning, 2 minors, One I knew I made and another I missed a life saver at a roundabout. I thought I was going to be nervous and make more mistakes but it was enjoyable morning riding about.

Sadly not be upgrading to something more powerful soon as I just bought a new car, but I am in no rush, enjoy riding about on my MSX.

Well done!

I said that about keeping my CBF125, I was genuinely happy riding my 125. I then bought my Kawasaki Z750 the day after passing... :D
