My reason for not wanting the take over to happen is because EA have enough already that they should be concentrating on.

But what I want to know... and I know this might sound immature. But what do the people who work for Take Two think of this?

Are they in favour or against it?

Just if I was working for them and my colleagues thought the same, couldn't everyone threaten the board members that they will leave if they go ahead with the take over?

Do the board members even care about the games or are they there just for the money?

I know I don't work for Take Two and can't comment. But there hasn't been and media coverage of what Take Twos employees think of this. I guess that's because they can't comment on it.

Like I said, I know it sounds immature but when it comes to the business side of things I have no clue.

Why would the Take Two employee's care so much? They just want to make games I guess and EA might pump a lot of cash into them allowing them to make better games.

Thats a guess of course.

Edit - Your reason for not wanting a take over to happen? Its a bit weird, you think they have enough to concentrate on? I'm sure they'll manage!

EA are slave drivers*, so i would think developers who are currently under T2 would not want it :p

*the only evidence i have of such "slave driving" is a Penny Arcade sketch from about 2 years ago.

But do you not think that if EA had the GTA series that it would try to milk it and overuse it?

I would have thought that Take Two employees wouldn't want another company with that title as they could destroy it's reputation.

Theirs a fair few downsides EA could bring to Take Two, having a deadline for bringing out a game, while thats not always a bad thing, with games that have so much hype and unfinished game will completely ruin it.

Having that EA logo shoved in your face everytime you start one of their games and being unable to skip it while every other developer can be bypassed.

Milking the series and forcing newer versions earlier than they should be released, this will cause shorter gameplay and lack of idea's, This is from the past few years they have got worse, I quite remember enjoying EA titles, Not everything EA has been involved with has been bad though.

Take Two are going to look silly at the launch of GTA4 imo as it appears there is shortages due to production issues of a disc.

If they can't sort out something simple like that considering the notice and hype of the game, maybe they need someone bigger/better in charge? I am sure EA can use the shortages etc to their advantage in terms of convincing shareholders etc.

I don't think that the employees could or would have much of a say in the matter tbh. It's between the board and the shareholders as to what happens. I think it is still possible that EA could buy enough shares to become a majority shareholder and vote the current directors off the board. Although the share price will more than likely skyrocket after release so it could end up costing EA a lot more than $26 a share which is what they originally offered.

EA are well known for being less than fair when it comes to their employment practices. Read: http://ea-spouse.livejournal.com/274.html (Note: No overtime/compensation - a practice still very common in the games industry).

If I was an employee, I'd be concerned.

EA are a bunch of ****s, snapping up companies as they can't be bothered to make original games.

They have the licenses for everything, they are pretty much a monopoly.

Im sure taketwo employees care a lot about who pays thier wages, but the truth is peeps who work in the industry are really careful about what they say to the public because its easy to get fired for it.

People are always cautious about getting new owners but I think the strong financial backing of EA could be a good thing for Rockstar and It's staff.
