I know i will need in the region of 390MHZ. I have an Asus P5W DH Deluxe.

I would like to know what voltages i need to modify and to what to obtain the above speed?

I needed 1.4250 in my bios to get to 3.5GHz which resulted in 1.37 after the vdroop but at the end of the day it all depends on your cpu.

I need 1.4650 in my bios to get 8 hours orthos stable at 3.5ghz with my e6600 :(

However I was using 500mhz fsb (this was stable though as I ran it at 3ghz first) not sure if that makes a difference.

Can't really answer that as it depends on your spec, what is it?

If its a gigabyte motherboard then this guide is great.

my ram is specified up to 2.2v but I know some others are not, you should be able to find the max voltage for it on the shop website or the manufacturers website.

Sorry im fairly new at all this overclocking lark. I have 6400 dominator RAM 2x1GB and according to the website will take a max of 2.1v

Do i actually need to overclock the RAM to get a CPU speed of 3.5GHZ and what sort of settings do you reccomend to say even push 3.25?

i have the following:

e6600
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
2x1GB CorsairTwinX XMS2 Dominator,DDR2 PC2-6400,240 Pins, NonECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, EPP
Sapphire Radeon 2900XT

I'm new to overclocking too, but i'd hazard a guess at such a high OC like that you'd need to change the ram divider (what's the divider set as by the way?).

To get your e6600 to 3.5 you`d have to up your memory 389,this is still below your default tho which is 400.

Might take anything upto 1.5v to achieve this tho.

so you are saying rather than raising the MEM voltage to 2.1 to just use 1.5 instead?

on your cpu yes, your not overclocking your memory so no need to go above stock volts.

start off at 1.4v for the cpu at 3.5ghz.

You only need to run more voltage through the memory when you start overclocking the memory, which your not!

I would have thought any 6600 should be capable of 3.5ghz but maybe not!

Have a fiddle with the chipset voltages. Could help a lot, to stable the mobo.
