taking off a Tuniq Tower cooler....

ok just getting an RMA for my BFG 680i mobo... problem is the Tuniq bracket is stuck to the back of it !

how can I get this off? seems really stuck on (sticky pad) - before I send it back.

and anybody RMA`ed BFG - where are they ? and did it take long ?

I used a product known as sticky stuff remover to dissolve the pad. If you twist the bracket off you will scratch the motherboard. Maybe you can find another chemical around the home to get rid of the pad.

yeah its a joke. they should never put something so adhesive on the backplate. i always recommend not sticking it at all for this reason.

never used backplate for my tuniq when fitted to motherboard

yeh the backplate should not be a sticky, should be
solid rubber or something else not sticky crap.

fair enough but some people dont have anything to screw the heatsink to unless they use a backplate lol

i thought all motherboards had backplates well the expensive ones

not really no. a lot of them dont come with back plates, like my p5w dh deluxe.

Probably not a bad idea, the board is going in for RMA anyway so you don't have to worry about killing it.

LOL - but dont wanna snap it pulling it off..... guess ill try the hair dryer - what a carry on this is turning out to be £1500 worth of stuff just sat doing nothing!

BFG cant even get my address right now for the RMA - this is into 2nd day of emails... they cant `format` the address properly because they type theres up different lol... oh dear.

thinking of getting another none 680 board just in case and then selling one one......
