Im experienced in photo shop so i can tweak the photos but i wouldnt mind some tips..Im using a nikon d50..I will be taking pics against a white back ground..I want to get the kind of bleached out effect on the skin..But make her childs eyes stand out and also the tshirt....any tips would be awsome thanks...

What is the style of venture????

Bleeched effect can be done by over exposing by a couple of stops.

We had some pics of the kids done at venture.

What you need is a very white studio with lots of lighting.

In the home i guess a white room, with white sheets on the floor and lots of lamps and a decent flash. The trick with venture was to get the kids to run around like looneys and capture them during this. Kids always other pose in my experience.

The pics where very expensive but also very good and i have never quite managed to get the same effect with my setup.

Tips for Venture style portraits

A strong and bold white backdrop!!
High key so plenty of fill light and key light at quite close distance to almost give a blown out feel to it.

Photographing in color and using the photoshop saturation tool. Choosing the color channel to boost in saturation to give that ventured style effect
