I'm off to New York in 2 weeks and was wondering if I can bring my Nintendo Switch on the plane?

I have read mixed things online so I'm not 100%. First time flying so need BOTW to keep me busy.

I took it to Japan, don't see why not.

When I went to HK the other week they don't even need it out of the bag, only laptops and iPads.

I was thinking it wouldn't be a problem, was just curious though. Guessing it will be okay to have in my carry on hand luggage then?

I've taken mine away loads. Some airlines don't like you using battery packs for charging on the actual flight but the Switch itself is fine.

Used mine on numerous different airlines and through security across heaps of countries with no issues. I also just use my Samsung S8 usb cable to charge it on the plane whilst playing. All good for the hand luggage but I'd recommend getting a small case for it.

Standstead took my bag for inspection because of mine. Even said to me 'yeah you don't normally need to take game consoles out'. It was so busy, was waiting for about 45 minutes.

If the place is busy I just do it now.

Also I've taken my switch on about 10 flights. UK, Cyprus, New Zealand. Its not an issue.
