I'm off to New York in 2 weeks and was wondering if I can bring my Nintendo Switch on the plane?

I have read mixed things online so I'm not 100%. First time flying so need BOTW to keep me busy.

I took it to Japan, don't see why not.

When I went to HK the other week they don't even need it out of the bag, only laptops and iPads.

I was thinking it wouldn't be a problem, was just curious though. Guessing it will be okay to have in my carry on hand luggage then?

Took mine to Vega last year. Not a problem.

I've taken mine away loads. Some airlines don't like you using battery packs for charging on the actual flight but the Switch itself is fine.

Not much different to a smartphone really.

As above, might tell you off if using a battery pack for charging though.

Used mine on numerous different airlines and through security across heaps of countries with no issues. I also just use my Samsung S8 usb cable to charge it on the plane whilst playing. All good for the hand luggage but I'd recommend getting a small case for it.

I took mine to Morocco no issues, apart form falling asleep and not actually playing it ...

Ha I know the feeling! I usually take it with the intention I'll have quite a few hours to dedicate to a game then end up watching a movie

I took mine to Florida last year plus all the iPads. No problem at all, you just have to get all devices out at security so they can be scanned.

Thanks for clearing that up, looks like I'll be playing some BOTW on the flight then.

Standstead took my bag for inspection because of mine. Even said to me 'yeah you don't normally need to take game consoles out'. It was so busy, was waiting for about 45 minutes.

If the place is busy I just do it now.

Also I've taken my switch on about 10 flights. UK, Cyprus, New Zealand. Its not an issue.

No, but you can probably take it on the plane.
